Crew deserve pay that matches the day

Function TimeTrack was built by an IATSE crew member who got tired of being mispriced. Changing jobs, rates, overtime and benefit rules made it hard to keep track of what the work was worth. The next step is making the app easier for other crew members to use, with closed beta planned for Q4 2026.

The approach is contract- and fund-agnostic. Bring your own agreements, rate cards and fund documents; your reviewed terms shape the setup.

What we believe

The principles behind the pay engine

Derive, don't guess

Start with the agreements and fund documents you provide. Review the configured terms, then use them alongside the day you logged to understand the calculation.

Your data is yours

Clear access boundaries and reliable exports are requirements for shared crew work. Personal financial records should stay separate from a department's time records.

Built with the crew

Shaped by how gaffers, grips and department heads actually work — down to meal gating and kit subrentals.

Reconcile everything

Make differences between expected and recorded pay visible, with evidence and a clear correction process. Improving that experience is part of the roadmap.

The story

From the set, for the set

Function TimeTrack started with a simple, maddening problem: the person who worked the day is usually the last to know whether the check is right. Rate cards, overtime tiers and benefit rules are knowable — they just weren't in one place that could do the math.

The starting point is your own agreement, rate card and fund documents. You review the terms, then log the day. Function uses that configuration to calculate straight time, overtime, travel, premiums and contributions. When something doesn't match, it becomes a decision you make, not an error you discover months later.

Your income isn’t
our business model.

Contracts, rates and financial records can be sensitive and proprietary. Our commitment is simple:

  • We will never sell your income or contract details.
  • We will never collect or analyze those details for advertising, profiling, industry benchmarks or market research.
  • Your records serve your own tracking, calculations and reports.

The app stores and processes records to provide its features, maintain security and preserve record history. Our privacy policy explains that processing, including service providers and integrations.
